After dinner today in the living room while I was watching the movie, OBSESSED; Jason was playing with his Papa's iTouch and Jay was surfing the net in his laptop.
Jason: Ma, guess where we were today?
Me: Where?
Jason: Sa liquor store after buying oil for Papa's car. (At the liquor store after buying oil for Papa's car.)
Me: Unsa man inyong gipalit didto? (What did you buy there?)
Jason: Papa bought his beer.
Me: ahhh.
Jason: Ma, the person at the liquor store gave me lollipop.
Me: Really?
Jason: Uhu!
Me: Unsa nga klase nga lollipop? (What kind of lollipop?)
Jason: Lollipop! Just an ordinary lollipop.
Me: Kanang pareha ipanghatag sa bangko? (Those kind that they give you at the bank?)
Just like these lollies
Jason: I said, just an ordinary lollipop.
Me: Pareha sa ipanghatag sa bangko, Jay? (The same kind they give at the bank, Jay?)
Jay: O. (Yes.)
Me: Nganong gihatagan man ka, 'doy? (Why did they give you one, 'doy?)
Jason: ...because it's a liquor store?!
Me: huh?
Jason: Ma, they sell liquor there. Nothing for kids... so they give me something to lick. That's why they call their store a LICK-QUOR Store.
Me: Oh!
