What I Do

On Christmas eve, I was asked, "You have a job already?" It might make other people explode in anger if asked with the same question, but it didn't piss me at all. It made me feel frustrated.

I just answered her, "Yes! I do have a job, and have been in it since 2003!" Because most people I know only knew that I am a stay-at-home mother, and they always forget to acknowldge that I am a homebased business owner too. Just because I do not have a boss, and doesn't go to work outside of our home does not mean that I do not have a job.

That wasn't the first time I was asked of the same question though. But that evening made me realize that I should be more stricter in following work hours in my e-shop like it's a brick and mortar store. Working in e-retail takes so much time, especially when you're working alone. I even work during dawn when I have to answer inquiries, for example, from a customer who wanted specific measurements of high waist jeans that she want to be shipped out ASAP because they're flying to another country in about a week for a holiday getaway.

I try to work at least eight hours a day now. At work, I am a/an...

What else? Name it! I love everything I do and I think after many years, I have to set my time for work like everyone else does. I felt really bad that I turned away a friend who wanted to come on a Thursday or a Friday. I would definitely find time anytime soon to hang out with her on a weekend.

Here are some pieces that I am listing soon!

Thanks. I don't sell goods exclusively for women, but for all and for all ages. :D

That's really annoying. Unless they have a job offer, I don't think it's someone else's business to ask me about my job. Anyway, cool stuff you got there. I'm currently checking your shop :)

That blue, black and red plaid jacket reminded me of a cap I once have and people kept asking me whether I am going for golf. I do like to sell online but because of my 'regular' job, I cannot find time to do it. Maybe later. Here's a toast to Superwoman!

You're on Etsy!!! I shop there. A lot. I find the most interesting items there and friends always rave about the gifts i give them. The little black dress and the blazer, those are awesome by the way.

I think with the heavy taxation governments around the world are imposing, the crisis and stuff, a new "job culture" is coming forth.

You know after reading the hundred stuff you normally do every day, it reminded me of this old song by Peggy Lee, "I'm a woman". That's like a perfect battle song for you. Hehehe!

Peggy Lee! I always listen to her songs during my bikes and walks in the afternoon if the weather permits. I love listening to 1940 - early 1990s songs.

I just listened to her "I'm A Woman", and yes! It fits! Hahaha. Thanks Mr. T!

Let me know if you like and want to purchase something from my shop, I'll send you coupon code. *wink

I agree. It's really none of her business.

Thanks.
