Coffee and Maamoul

Okay. Moving on from the stripper heels hoopla.

The mister and I dropped by at the Gravel & Grind on Friday afternoon after a 4-mile hike at the Catoctin Mountain Park. I wanted something cold and a pastry called maamoul that I saw earlier in the week at a fellow Fredericktonian's instagram account, Berto . This one. I also wanted to try their The Johnny Cash -- Nutella, orange blossom water with cold espresso.

The mister wanted me to try their toast with cheese, tomatoes and basil leaves, but I chose maamoul. I have never heard of it, and I wanted to find out if there's filling in it. It looked like it does.

The Johnny Cash was something new. I loved it. I never knew that the taste and smell of orange is really good with coffee. Compare to the Horchado that the mister got that day, we loved The Johnny Cash more. The ma'amoul was really lovely too. It's filled with dates and at the bottom were pistachios.

There's more that I wanted to try in their coffee special menu like their Cinnamon Toast Crunch or Maple Chico, and maybe that toast that the mister kept insisting me to try. I'd like to have their Faux Not Pho again too. The mister brought me a cup one time I didn't come along with him to the coffee shop.

reminds me of a dominican pastry that a former co-worker made me try one time...

I like the way they used glass bottles to serve their coffee. I like to try the ma'amoul filled with dates and pistachios!
