I had packages for pick-up today by the postman. When I checked our front door if it was pick up by mid-afternoon, I also noticed a package delivered.
It was not for me again, but for the mister.
After dinner, I asked him if he's okay with either a fig bar, or oatmeal for breakfast since we ran out of bread. I honestly don't have plans to make my homemade bread today because I'll be doing overtime work for my shop in the basement for another 2 hours after dinner.
I noticed him trying on a new pair of black headphones.
No wonder he didn't hear me talking from the kitchen. He was in the adjacent open room, at our family room.
The newly delivered package was his new pair of noise-cancelling headphones. He said he'll need it to listen to music and podcasts on his daily train ride to work.
I knew he was planning to get one, but I had no idea that he bought one already.
"So, was it on clearance?" I asked him.
Hehehehe.

Clearance Sale
On my way out to my allergist on Tuesday, I saw a delivered package. It was kind of big, and I thought it was the package I have been expecting from my mother.
No, it wasn't. It's for the mister.
He opened it immediately right after he put his office bag down.
It was a new black motorbike helmet.
He tried it on.
"You bought a new one?" I asked. I gave him a retro style helmet years ago for Christmas.
He didn't answer me. He was busy checking himself on the mirror wearing his newly delivered purchase.
"Well, how much was it?" I asked further.
"It was on clearance!" he replied.
Hahahaha!
Men are like women too. As a defense for an unplanned purchase, they'll answer the same as us.

Mongo with Malunggay
On Sunday evening, the mister and I weren't really planning on going out of the house, but we had to. We ran out of roasted coffee beans. We went to the Common Market which is about 6 miles away from our house.
While the mister was at the coffee aisle, I walked around and I saw this in the food court.

Read the label closely! It doesn't say moringa, but spinach! So, which is which? Moringa or malunggay is different from spinach.
It looked a bit dry because, I guess, it was evening already, or maybe it's not really the soupy kind of dish.

Anyway, mongo (or Monggo) with Malunggay is a Filipino savory mung bean dish.
"Wow! I think their cook is a Filipino." I told the mister when we were heading out.
This really made me happy. This seldom happens because Filipino dishes are mostly found and sold in Filipino restaurants and stores. These specific stores are not so many of them in this part of America. What made me more thrilled was they used Filipino terms too, like the mongo which is mung beans in English, and the malunggay also known as moringa.
"...or maybe, the person who made their labels and signs is a Filipino!" Then, the mister really had something to say.
* big sigh.
