Room 206

"There'll be a chair hanging from the ceiling in our suite." Jay told me casually after he booked our suite.

I really thought he was kidding, but apparently not.

Both rooms have queen beds, but I chose this room (photo below) because I think the lamps are cute.

There's also a super tall and skinny sculpture by the door.

The lamps were all of of kind and thankfully they're not the funeral-home-looking floor lamps.

And oh, I really want the ultra-big wall mirror that looked like a hand-held one.

This is Room 206 of Bluegreen Club La Pension in New Orleans.

Landed in NOLA

We landed in Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Aiport (MSY) a few minutes past 4 o'clock in the afternoon on September 19.

We waited for Yna and Larry by the stage where a musician was getting ready to perform, near door exit 9.

They arrived about 20 minutes after us from their flight in New York.

Larry requested an Uber ride to the resort where we are staying in for the week. It was a black Honda Pilot with a cracked windshield.

The ride was about 30 minutes from the airport.

We booked a 2-bedroom suites for a whole week at Bluegreen Club La Pension which is located at the historic French Quarters.

The lobby was that one-of-a kind eclectic feast to the eyes--- the old candelabra floor lamps that reminded me of funeral lamps in the Philippines, the big pearl on an oyster shell table-top décor, the colors, the hanging love seat, the sofa, and more.

To NOLA

We have an annual family trip, and this year it is in New Orleans, Louisiana (NOLA).

We started this since 2000, when our son was a few months old. There were times that we'd just spend a week to a neighboring state, and a few times, we traveled by plane.

It'll be the second time for my daughter, Yna and son, Jason as they had a sibling-trip here back in 2023. No parents. It was an exclusive sibling only trip.

From Baltimore/Washington International Aiport (BWI), we flew to NOLA via South West Airline.

I don't recall traveling with this airline. It's odd that it doesn't have assigned seating. It's just like a public bus or train ride.

I don't get excited by pretzel snacks, but I was wrong with this one. This is so good. In fact, I asked Jay to order it online--- a big pack.

I also brought extra sustenance to share during the flight, a few packs of Keebler cheese crackers.

It took a little over two hours flight to NOLA. We'll meet Yna and Larry at the airport there. Their flight from New York arrives 20 minutes after ours.
