My Reality is Better Than my Dream

I met a doctor, and we became really close as friends. His name is Doctor Mercado. He's so much older than me, and is quite famous in the Philippines. In one of his talks in one of the big universities in Manila, I tagged along with him with my camera. One of the famous stars was in that event too. She's a client and a friend of Dr. M, Maine Mendoza, the other half of Aldub. After the talk, students took turns for photo ops with the two. Maine liked to have a photo taken with me and the doctor before we parted ways for the day, so I asked one student to take photos of us using my camera. I remembered the face of the male student vividly, but he disappeared from the bunch of students who was still lingering with the rest of the group. He just disappeared with my camera.

Everyone left but me. I looked for my camera all over the campus. It was getting dark already and the place is calmly getting deserted. A total opposite of how I was feeling inside, I was franticly panicking. I can't lose my camera. Aside from it's a Leica, the memory card was close to full of memories I took in our trips to Williamsburg and Richmond, Virginia; California; and Arizona.

I was mad at myself for being too trusting. I held that camera close to my heart for eight years. It was a gift from the mister. The campus was so dark already, and I slowly walked towards the guard house when the light turned on in front of me.

I opened my eyes. I saw the mister opening the curtain to let the light come in in the room. It's past noon and I am still in bed. I don't know how long he spent his time on the trail, but the mister is back from biking.

Phew! It was just a dream!

"Jay, nawa akong camera sa akong damgo!" (I lost my camera in my dream.), I told him immediately.

The mister is used to of hearing the weird and good stories from my dreams. Then he asked me, "Ganahan ka ug kape?" (You want coffee?)

The mister bought a half dozen of freshly made Duck Donuts too.

The donut sprinkled with bacon bits got me excited.

*sigh! I am just glad that losing my camera was just a dream, and I am happier to wake up with coffee and donuts. I donut remember the last time I had one.

P.S. I slept so late last night watching Project Runway All Stars and Hollywood Medium with Tyler Henry. Since religiously following an at least seven to nine hours of sleep every night for over three years, I guess sleeping so late was probably a result of that dream. hehehe.

By the way, I don't know a Doctor Mercado, and I don't follow Aldub, but I saw a photo of Maine in one of the Filipino news magazine online before I went to sleep. I did not read the article about her though.

Recently I also had many weird dreams like meeting all the high profile people whom I do not even know personally like our corrupt PM and his wife! Last night I even dreamt a familiar cyclist had dinner with me. He was paralyzed on the wheel chair. We Buddhists often believe that when we have frequent weird or bad dreams, it is time to sprinkle holy water or smoke the house with holy ash to purify away all the wandering unseen presence.

I would definitely be upset if my camera or phone disappear, moreso, stolen right in front of my eyes. But good it was just a dream.

Googled for you- To dream of losing something reflects a similar scenario in your waking life. Perhaps you have misplaced an important item, but have not yet realized it. Your dream may be a reminder to put some order in your life. You are swamped with work and this has been resulting in distractions. Do not lose focus and tackle a chore one at a time.

Figuratively, losing things in your dream may indicate missed opportunities, past relationships, or neglected facets of your life. You may properly gauge the emotional context and interpretation of your dream by paying attention to the item lost in your dream.

To dream about a camera indicates a wish to hold onto and not let go of your past. It may also indicate that you must focus more tightly on a current circumstance that has arisen within your life. You may need to have a better idea about or be more focused on this situation.

Thank you, Jon.

I have been really thinking what item I lost, and all I can remember is I can never find my asthma care plan. I've been worried since it's the allergy season, and wasn't able to get another copy from my doctor before we left for a week vacation three hours away.

I have come to realize to focus on the people that are currently present in my life. I don't think much of the people that came and left anymore. I am thankful of the now, and looking to the future.

Hahaha! How were you when you woke up, were you feeling tired and exhausted? Haha. Whenever I have such a difficult dream, I feel wasted when I rise from bed. I need cold water. :D

The coffee and donuts are indeed way better than the dream.

There is a realization that I should also embrace and that is the one you shared in your last paragraph. I should also focus on the now and not to go back trying to cling to what is already gone.

Take care of your health, also have an allergy to pollen and dust here.
