Whataweekend!

Last Friday was suppose to be another "Friday Movie Night" with Ringkoy and Margie Dumadag's girls a.k.a. THE POWER PUFF GIRLS: Paola, Tessa and Aira. After dropping off my daughter, Yna to her friend, Carrie's house for a birthday sleepover, Jay called and said he had to go and see a doctor. He had a painful blister on his left wrist. We had no idea how and what was the cause. After dinner, we went to the Advanced Urgent Care of Frederick. I asked Jay if Jason and I could come inside so I can hear firsthand what was the doctor's diagnosis. He didn't let me so we were left in the waiting room.

I just flipped some pages from a magazine in the waiting area. I forgot what was the name of the mag though. Anyway, I like how the green shutters in this home office is being reused.

Looked at the mirror leaning on that wall. Love that detail too.

To continue with what happen to Jay, ...and the diagnosis? He had Lymphangitis! The doctor said he needs to go to the Frederick Memorial Hospital ER because he needed to have an IV. This is his first time in the ER as the patient. He seldom gets sick.

Even in the ER, he had his Leica M6 .

While Jay was changing to his faded ER get-up.
Jay to me: Can you help me tie these? (Pointing to the ties at the back of his faded hospital gown.)
Me:
OK.
Jason: (Keenly observing Jay and I)
Hey, Pa! You look like Jesus!
Jay and I:
LOL

Jason is comforting and assuring his father that needles are not that ouchy.

Jason: Pa, are you nervous? (referring to the IV needle)
Jay: Not really.
Jason: It'll be just like a teeny tiny pinch. Trust me. I'm used to that you know. (He has monthly allergy shots for a little over a year now. It used to be twice a week.)

Sunday. We went to Margie and Ringkoy's house which is about 5 minutes drive from our place, for a birthday gathering of 3 February birthday celebrants, Miko, Tita Melot and Nick.

Tita Melot made these Macaroons.

Nick and Jen brought these cakes.

I think this was a Rum Cake.

This was a Black Forest Cake.

After dinner, the kids, Aira, Jason (not in the picture), Cristel and my goddaughter, Lucy had so much fun.

February birthday gathering
The grown ups watched the Oscars.

We ended the night with a freshly brewed hot DON DON pure corn coffee which Margie brought from her recent trip to our beloved island, Bohol, Philippines.

Love. Love. Love. Love. Love makes the world go round.
