Darn! It works!

My allergist tried to wean me out of my daily medicines for my extreme allergies. Read: She tried.

I am allergic to the outdoors, and unfortunately, the indoors too.

I honestly think I am built to be a fish, and just live in water.

Her plan was to wean me out for 2 weeks, and check my lungs again after that, but I only lasted for a couple of days.

So, I am congested again, although I don't feel stuffy at all. I have been coughing, and have been clearing my throat, so I knew there is really something wrong inside.

It's the change of season, and sadly my body isn't ready yet without my medicines even if I had about a year of immunotheraphy treatment already. That also means I have 4 more years of treatment.

Oh well.

I am back on my inhaler but on a lower dosage which is a good thing, and along with that are 2 kinds of nasal spray. Sadly, the other nasal spray is just yuck!

...and I mean it's ewww on a different level! That is 2 sprays per nostril twice a day.

But darn! It sure works.

P.S. I am only on this yucky nasal spray for 4 weeks, and that, I believe,  is something to be thankful for.

Spokening Bisaya

Days ago while I was at the grocery store, I would normally go at the self-check out register, but that day the customer service lady lead me to the first register which was the express lane or the less than 10 items counter.

After picking the receipt and my grocery bags, I told the young cashier..

"Salamat!"

She looked up confused.

Ooops!

Hehehehehe.

But I corrected myself right away, and immediately told her

"Thank you!"

And yesterday, I went to my dentist at 4pm for  routine cleaning. My favorite dental hygienist, Jea commended my brushing and flossing habit. She said my gum color is really good.

But before my visit was over, she asked me if it was okay for her to schedule me for the next visit early next year.

"How about middle of January?"

"That's perfect!" I answered.

"Any time preference?"

"Hmmm. Not a very early time though, but the rest of the day, I am fine with it."

I can't assure that I'd be able to wake up early.

"There's an 11 AM...."

...and before she could continue I blurted out

"KANA! KANA! KANA!"

"What's that again?"

I knew she heard me because I said it out loud, and I mean excitedly loud.

She looked down at me so confused. By the way, I was still relaxing at the dental chair.

"Oh sorry! I was answering you in my native tongue! I meant 'that one! that one!'

She laughed with me. I told her what happened days ago at the grocery store too. My spoken English is quarantining, and it seriously needs to go back to normal as well.

And she added that I think I'd prefer the 3 PM one. So I did picked the latter.

I haven't been outside our home as often as I could, and speak in English. I can not speak English to the mister or the boy, and even to the cats. That would be very weird and awkward.

One-Way Green Arrow Sign

I have been very quiet in this space, but I do update my Instagram account. I mostly post stories.

My life has not changed much, although I trimmed some people out of it, which for me is a blessing.

Life is quieter and peaceful. Who doesn't want that?

But how do you trust again when trust has been broken over and over? This isn't about the mister and my relationship, but about somebody I once called "friend."

Anyway, yesterday at the grocery store, I noticed that the one-way green arrow signs on the floor are gone. What does that mean?

It seemed like businesses were slowly going back to normal, and even restaurants were open for dine-in again.

While at the grocery store, someone said hi to me. I was picking out oranges in the produce aisle, so I didn't notice the people around me.

"Hi Tita Lili!"

I instantly knew that that greeting was for me.

I looked up, and there was Andrew. He's one of the boy's close friends. I was so happy to see him, even if it was a quick hello because I think he was still on the clock.

Normally, I'd see them at home or at our driveway when they pick up the boy to go somewhere.

They haven't been hanging out since the start of the pandemic.

By the way, the boy doesn't have any Filipino friends, and for his friends to respectfully call me Tita is such a wonderful thing.

Like I said before, I am extremely grateful for all the relationships that my kids make outside our home.
