The Walkathoner

I have been walking (with a little bit of running) more than I used to for the past few months already. It's like I am a walkathoner now, except it's not for a charity or a fundraising event. Since 2014, my goal per week was at least 21 miles. Starting mid of this year, I upped it to 30 miles per week. I think I am doing good. I don't walk around our cul-de-sac anymore, but at the park.

One morning, the other week, I was a bit worried since I was feeling weak, and I had a slight fever. The mister was sick first and then a week later, it was me. I opted to stay in bed most of the day, and recuperate. You know, I had to feel better for the rest of the week because I had a goal---the 30 miles. As I said before, since eating mostly plant based food, recovery is sooooo quick whenever I get sick. Two days later, I was back at the park walking again.

Dear readers, this is my "gym." It's beautiful and  most of all, it is ((( FREE ))).

I see this around the park and in our neighborhood. I hope Diesel finds his way home.

For the past months, I have earned from 27 to 40 miles per week. From Sunday to yesterday, it's a total of 21.54 miles already. Goal is 30 miles for this week.

As far as I can remember, I have a sedentary lifestyle. I have never been into sports, but crafts, and arts. I love to stay at home. I do not know exactly what I am now, but I am certain that I am a couch potato no more.

Let's do this, Lili. Rain or shine!

Walk, Lilian! Walk!

Ten years ago, a 5-mile bike ride seemed so far and would take a long time. It did feel like it's impossible to do it everyday.

Fast forward to 2016, 5 miles is a piece of cake. Depending on how early I start my walk, I go as far as 6 miles or even more. Yesterday, my goal was 4 miles, but I walked beyond my goal. I did 5.3 miles (14,280 steps) in 1 and half hour. I wanted to walk more but I had to go home and start dinner.

Back in 2014, I only walk about 2 to 3 miles or sometimes just 30 minutes around our cul-de-sac everyday. For the past several months, I have been pushing beyond my limits.

It also helps that I live in a town with beautiful parks.
