No Need To Cook

"Let's go!"

He blurted that out when he got home after work today.

"To where?"

"To happy hour at, maybe, Thai Meric Eatery and Bar."

No way! That's a restaurant and not a beer house.

It's the eve of our wedding day anniversary, so I am off of my kitchen duties today.

Before happy hour was over at 6:30 p.m., we ordered a Moscow Mule and a hot sake.

We were too excited for their goat Massaman. We had this last December with my little sister, Charmaine. This is, by far, one of the best goat dishes in town.

We also had their beef hot pot.

For our dessert, I wanted to get their Mango Sticky Rice, but I told the mister that it would be a rain check for our next happy hour at this restaurant. Instead, we had their crispy fried banana with their jackfruit coconut ice cream.

By they way, we finished everything just in time for Jay to go back to work at 7 p.m.

I can't wait for the next happy hour.

Lunch Date

I was ecstatic about our first lunch date since the pandemic began.

We had lunch with a very dear friend and our oldest friend (not in terms of his age) in America.

He's a friend and a former boss of the mister back in Cebu, Philippines. They were coworkers when the mister and I had only been married for a year, in early 1996.

We had planned to visit each other in May. Unfortunately, the mister and I went on a week-long out-of-state trip with the children.

We agreed to try a Thai restaurant that newly opened in April of this year. It's just a mile walk away from our house.

I loved the interior. It's eclectic.

The food were exactly as what was advertised, and it tasted so good as it looked!

Crispy Calamari

Steamed Dumpling

Crispy Pork

Crispy Tilapia

Spicy Eggplant

Crispy Banana

The prettiest sticky rice and mango that I've seen in my entire existence. I looked forward to this---love Sticky Rice so much.

It was the first dining experience here for our long time friend, Josh and he promised to come back.

Guess what?! We were there for 2 hours. So much catching up to do, and we're planning for another lunch date again, if our schedules permit.
