New Year's Eve Countdown
After our early dinner on New Year's eve with the kids, the mister and I went with our friends for cocktails.

The ladies and I before we all headed out the door for late dinner & cocktails.
... and guess where?
We went back to Isabella's again!

We had Sangria, some had tap beer and the baby in the group had cranberry and pineapple juice. I love Isabella's Sangria!

Because the mister and I had our dinner already, we tried their Tuna Tartare (Costa Rica yellow fin tuna, chorizo aioli, avocado, olive oil, green onions & alfalfa sprouts . $9.25)

I didn't have an eyegasm the moment this was served. As with our friend who said, "Mura man na ug Friskies!" (That looks like Friskies!), when he saw it. I do agree with him. It looked like wet cat food. So unappetizing. I also thought that tuna tartare is served with toasted bread, crackers or chips, but with this one, there was none. So, we asked, but the toasted bread didn't arrive. We just used the bread they served gratis. I was doubtful of this dish tastewise, we had to try it and who knows it'll be good. IT WAS NOT! I was expecting so much because it's from Isabella's. For the best tuna tartare in downtown, I think Lazy Fish' is at the top!
Ostras (Connecticut blue point oyster on the half shell served with shallot Jerez dressing . $8.99)
This was good, and it was refreshing too. The fresh oysters and the dressing was perfect together. The dressing tasted almost like the Philippine Pinakurat vinegar!
Minutes past 11:00 o'clock, downtown Frederick was so alive for the welcoming of the new year.

After Isabella's, we all headed to Jup and Yeng's house to wait for the countdown. More drinks, nuts, sweets, vodka laced jell-os, party hats, squawkers, wonderful and funny stories, laughter, and most of all friends and family made this night worth-remembering.

This is Maximus, also known as Max. He's so sweet and such a good dog. The young lady wanted to take him home.

To family and good friends like family, cheers!
