The 80s!

Yesterday was amazing, and I meant the weather. It was in the 70s (°F). It was a T-shirt kind of day.

I asked the boy to get me a pair of socks in my sock drawer. To walk for an hour at 4:30 p.m. was the plan but rain was in the forecast although it was still sunny outside. I was replying to an inquiry in the store when...

"Ma, just go before it'll rain. I got you socks already!"

Well, it eventually rained even if the sun was still out for the next 5 to 10 minutes. I felt bad that I didn't wear the socks to walk, so I hopped on my bike in our living room attached to a bike trainer. But, the rain stopped 11 minutes past 5 p.m. Armed with my $2.99 classic umbrella from Ikea, I walked for the next hour in our cul de sac.

That was an achievement.

Early today, while driving the boy to school at around 7 a.m., I thought out loud...

"I wonder if it's in the 60s or the 70s..."

I couldn't even finish my thought when the boy answered me, "It's the 80s, 'ma!"

"WHAT? THE 80'S!?"

That got me really excited. It'll be another T-shirt day, and maybe a jorts (jean shorts) day for me! This means I will probably have another walk for an hour or more outside. Yey! I really love walking more than biking. If it rains or it's too cold outside, I have no choice but to bike indoor. If biking gets boring, I'll dance to Latin songs on the Latin Workout Radio on Pandora.

"It's Hall and Oates!" He continued.

Huh? I had to pause and clear out all my senses to understand what he meant.

Hahahaha! I did not realize that he was referring to the song played on the radio, while I was referring to today's weather.

Private Eyes by Hall & Oates was on. It is one of the many popular songs by the duo,
Daryl Hall & John Oates released in 1981. The boy was absolutely right. He is just like his father, both are musicophile. The mister has an enviable (a term used by a blogger when she saw it in one of  the photos of my previous post) collection of vinyl records, and our turntable is always on when he is home.

I have very limited knowledge in music compared to the rest of the family. With Hall & Oates, I only know 2 of their songs --- Maneater and Rich Girl.

By the way, it's in the 40s (°F) today. It's a sweater and coat day. Plus, it will also rain in the mid-afternoon. It's currently gloomy and misty outside, and I wanted to walk but I have to pack two items to ship for customers in New York and California.

Oh shoot! Technically, I am still at work at this moment.

Got to go!

It took me a minute to realize that you were talking about the temperature as I am too used to Celcius. The 80s is perfect for walking. I used to love walking with a drizzle & cold breeze on my face in Pittsburgh after classes. I could easily walk home from college for 5-8 miles and loved it. Over here, I would even drive my car to the bank when I could walk for a mere 3 minutes. Ha Ha! Signs of aging and laziness.

Love to stay indoor when it rains, and stay under the covers and read a book.
