We ran out of milk and bread today. Good thing I kept a box of pancake mix in our pantry. It's a just-add-water kind of mix.
Speaking of figs, when I got a pack of this fruit at the grocery store days ago, the mister gave me a certain look.
Hehehe.
It was either he was not thrilled or not happy about it, or just maybe he was teasing me.
You see, organically grown figs are pollinated by female wasps, and mostly they're trapped inside the fruit because they also lay eggs inside the flower that develops into a fruit.
But fear not, the wasp dissolves with the development of the fruit. Fig trees produce an enzyme called ficin and it digests and dissolves protein, such as the body of the wasp. All of these nourish the fig.
Yum!
Hahahaha.
By the way, figs are a good source of calcium, potassium and prebiotics (for your gut health). They are also high in fiber that helps flush excess sodium in your gorgeous body.
It was also commonly used as a sweetener in desserts before there was commercial sugar.
A good source of nutrient figs are pollinated by female wasps, and eventually dissolve in the fruit.
Therefore, this fruit is a carnivore.
Isn't it?
That's all for now.
...and I thank you.

Jay asked me what happened to the rest of our Spanish bread that I baked on Wednesday at dawn. All he could remember was that he only ate three pieces.
Pasaylua!
Hihihihi.
I guess he forgot that I gave them away last Wednesday to my Pinoy allergist and her staff. Her American husband got excited when he saw the pack of freshly made Pinoy bread I brought.
So this morning, we had scrambled eggs, croissants from the grocery store, kiwi, blueberries, and figs plus Jay's cafe latte.
Jay wasn't too excited when I picked a pack of figs at the grocery store. I will talk about it on a different post.
After our blunch, I worked a little and cleaned a lot. I faintly made a dent in my to-do list even if I have been working so hard to be able to accomplish something on a Saturday.
Ugh! Honestly, I didn't know where to start. But one thing I made sure of was to fix a reading nook in our room by the window. I can't wait to hold a book, undisturbed but first, I will smell the pages.
I didn't do any gardening today although I really need to harvest some vegetables and clean some garden plots. I promise to do them tomorrow.
Oh! I went on a walk today at the nearby park. Jay didn't come with me because he just fixed his mountain bike and went on a ride at the Watershed.
I walked alone, but guess what?
I was coaching my little sister with her side hustle on the phone when I heard someone calling from across the street.
"MIGA! MIGA!"
...and I knew right away that she was calling me.
It was that friend I met last Monday at a food court. So funny that we have been accidentally meeting in the most unlikely places. She was with her husband who's a colleague of the mister.
I walked 3.8 miles today, and earned 9,384 steps.
