Father

I was at the park today earning my 10K bonus steps for the day.

I was passing by a family---a father, his son, and a baby girl on a stroller.

"Father! Father!" A boy with beautiful wavy hair, about 8 years old, tried to catch the attention of his father who was 5 meters away.

"Father, pass the ball!" I think he was referring to the football under the stroller.

I honestly thought the boy was joking.

Irritated, the father answered "Don't call me that!"

I slowed down because I wanted to hear more.

The boy looked down while slightly leaning on a park bench.

I saw the father walking towards the boy, and he said...

"Call me dad!"

I was bad

... but not guilty and apologetic about it.

You see, the mister was working late in his home office and I tempted him to have tea with me at midnight, and along with the hot beverage offer was also a slice of chocolate cake.

He said yes.

Such an unhealthy midnight snack, but it was so good.

Too Late, Chocolate!

The mister and I were listening to an NPR (National Public Radio) morning radio program. The hosts were talking about food and culture and their influences.

One caller, originally from North Carolina, is currently living in Maryland and was talking about barbecue. He was sharing about Pit Beef, and he said that it's a Baltimore thing. He was from a state famous for American barbecue.

We've never heard of this even though we have been living in Maryland for  almost 24 years. Baltimore is less than an hour away, and we have been there countless times.

The mister teased me about it.

"Let's go to Baltimore and get Pit Beef sandwich!"

 "Too late, chocolate!" I answered.

Hehehehe.

My most favorite meat was beef until 2015 when I omitted meat in my diet. When we go to restaurants, I would always look for any beef dishes first. Always!

I have decided to eat plants for health reasons.

I'd get a terrible tummy ache for days if I eat beef now, plus the smell of the meat is, for me, too strong.
